Bloomfield Industries

Bloomfield web site - Started in 1933 by Samuel Bloomfield in Chicago with his sons assisting in the business. Product line was expanded after his death in 1954. It acquired Proctor-Silex in 1961 and was acquired by Beatrice Foods in 1965.

This and the one below are probably the most contemporary of the flip-tops that saw commercial use.
This one was known as "Bloomfield 90" in the food service catalogues.

In photo below, the same bowl is held in place by a metal band. The seller bought the unit from a old restaurant and said the holder was screwed into the counter.

We tried to find out more about Bloomfield Industries, but the company was sold, relocated to the southwest, and all the old-timers who would have known the company's history retired or found other work in the Chicago area.
