Now known as Corning Inc., of Corning, N.Y., Corning Glass Works would have produced this bowl beginning in the mid-1950s. Maroon Band was Corning’s second pattern offered, after its Green Band. Names of these patterns were changed to Ruby Band and Emerald Band by the 1960s.
At 4 7/8” in diameter and 1 5/8” high, this is a #708 bowl.
The lid was made by Bloomfield Ind. I consider them to be the last manufacturer of lids, probably into the 1960s, so they would have been producing lids when this Corning pattern was introduced.
