This beautiful bowl was made in at least two sizes, as John and I each have one. Mine is 6 5/8" wide and 4 1/8" high. It has absolutely no maker's marks. We both think it might be English.

It has what appears to be an overglaze decal of a spray of delicate flowers and leaves in pinks and greens with additional handpainted highlighting of the leaves in white. The bowl has overall crazing.

The lid is unusually heavy and has two concentric circles scribed onto the metal.

John's is 6" wide by 3 7/8" wide, and its pattern is different than the one above. But the lid is the same with the concentric circles, and the setback of the hinges is the same, too – as is the crazing common to both. It must have been a beautiful set!
